The best of East Coast music will be featured beginning this Wednesday in Saint John which is hosting this year's East Coast Music Awards.

One of the city's biggest boosters, James Mullinger, who moved here from London, England, will host the awards show on Thursday night at Harbour Station. \

Mullinger says an event like this in the city is a big deal for Saint John and the timing couldn't be better. It's been something like 15 years since Saint John last hosted the ECMA's. The opening concert takes place Wednesday night on the Boardwalk outside Market Square.

In addition to the E-C-M-A's, the first cruise ship of the new season will be docking at the port on Thursday.

There will be music in the uptown at various locations through next weekend. The ECMA Big Ticket is 7:00 next Saturday night at the Trade and Convention Centre with Bluesman Matt Anderson.
