EMO Says Have Emergency Supplies To Last 72 Hrs.

The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization is advising residents to get prepared for freezing rain tomorrow.

Environment Canada is expecting a period of freezing rain in most parts of the province on Wednesday morning. The freezing rain should persist for about 2 to 3 hours before changing into rain early Wednesday afternoon.  In the western region of the province, the freezing rain could last up to 5 hours.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.

The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization advises people to have everything they need for up to 72 hours, including food, water, medication, batteries and other necessities.

New Brunswickers should continue to monitor conditions and local forecasts.
